During a 38-year career at Colorado State University, Dr. Brad Sheafor has made significant contributions as a key teacher and administrator, a leader in national and professional groups, and an author of key textbooks used in the School of Social Work at CSU and throughout the world. He is closely associated with the evolution of this program, which now offers a full range of social work education including undergraduate (BSW) and graduate (MSW and Ph.D.) degrees. The School of Social Work at CSU has gained national stature as one of the top social work education programs and one of the most selective in the admittance of MSW students.
In honor of Dr. Sheafor’s retirement in Spring 2012, his national leadership and contributions to the field of social work will be carried on through the Brad Sheafor Lecture Series in Social Work.
The purpose of the fund is to provide a lecture series in social work that will build on Brad’s legacy of strengthening human services by bringing recognized experts to better inform CSU faculty, students, and social work practitioners on cutting-edge topics of current interest in social work and human services.
