William "Bill" Cook served as a professor of chemistry at Colorado State University and later as dean of the College of Science and Arts. When that college split in 1968 into the colleges of Humanities and Social Sciences and Natural Sciences, Bill remained dean of the College of Natural Sciences. Among his many passions that lasted into retirement was support for faculty research and professional development. He and his wife Bobbie were founding members of the Great Conversations series that supports the Liberal Arts Faculty Development Fund, and he supported the Natural Sciences Fund, which helps faculty pursue their professional goals. Bill Cook was committed to helping the faculty, students and the University flourish.
