Jim Young taught in the Department of Construction Management for nearly 20 years between 1962-1976 and again from 1986 until his retirement in 1992. As a faculty member, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses, helped develop new curricula, oversaw department research activities, and was a key department liaison to the industry. His distinguished career includes many publications and awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Associated Schools of Construction. Jim values a strong faculty base as a vital component of a successful program. He created the Jim Young Faculty Member of the Year Award, which will honor an individual selected annually by construction management students. Gifts to the Jim Young Award are made through the Road to Excellence Faculty and Staff Development fund.
