Lois Adlfinger had a big, generous heart, and she shared it with
everyone. A lifelong learner, she achieved her master's degree late in life while working full time and battling heart failure. She learned to swim in her sixties and maintained an extremely active lifestyle until the day she died. She
NEVER stopped taking classes, pursuing certifications, and giving and sharing
her passion for learning with all. Lois was not just an animal
"lover," she held a conviction that humans were put here on earth to
shepherd and care for all animals. Her own family consisted of a long line of
Labrador retrievers and cats. It is the sincere hope of Lois's family and
friends that through this fund, her beliefs and principles will live on: Never
give up, never stop learning, and devote your lives to improving the quality of
life for all our fellow creatures.
Your gift will support an annual award for oncology specialist trainees
at the Colorado State University Robert H. and Mary G. Flint Animal Cancer Center. Oncology residents and fellows provide
critical clinical skills and compassionate care to animals and their humans as
they battle cancer.
