Support the Lee and Hillary MacDonald Graduate Scholarship in Watershed Science
Dr. Lee MacDonald was a professor of land use hydrology in the Watershed Science Program from 1990 to 2013. In honor of his passion for student excellence and recent retirement, the Lee and Hillary MacDonald Graduate Scholarship in Watershed Science was recently established.
Through the generosity of former students, friends, and other donors, this fund was fully endowed at $25,000 in one year, with the initial scholarship already being awarded for 2013-2014. Future scholarships will be awarded annually based on academic excellence and financial need, with the amount being based on the current annual payout rate of 4.5 percent of the endowment value. Given the rapidly increasing cost of a graduate education and the number of highly deserving students, there is a strong need to continue growing the endowment and, to this end, Lee and Hillary plan to continue matching every future donation.
Please consider making your contribution to this worthy endeavor. Every gift is important, and each dollar you donate to the endowment will be matched by Lee and Hillary - dollar for dollar - providing that much more help to one or more deserving graduate students. Thank you!
