The CSU Rams Men’s Ice
Hockey team is a founding member of the Western Collegiate Hockey League
which is typically the toughest league in the American Collegiate Hockey
Association. Members of the WCHL include Arizona State, Arizona, Arkansas,
Colorado State, Colorado, Missouri State, Oklahoma, and Central
Oklahoma. The Rams consistently rank among the top 20 teams in the entire
ACHA.
In
addition to the league schedule, the team also competes against other colleges
and universities across the country to complete a schedule of between 35-40
games each season. This schedule includes between four to six road trips.
Beyond hockey, the
program provides students with an excellent opportunity for leadership,
responsibility, and quality athletics that will benefit them long after they
graduate. The program is student-led, and the student athletes, with the
support of the CSU Campus Recreation Office, dedicated coaches, managers,
athletic trainers, and interns to manage season travel, media and advertising,
finances, marketing, and more. The team also works closely with the University,
groups in the community, and youth hockey organizations to facilitate team
events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraisers, rounding out the college
hockey experience.
