Manuel Montoya Memorial

The College of Engineering and the Montoya family have created a new scholarship to honor Manuel Montoya, a first-generation electrical engineering major who was 71 when he passed away on Nov. 1, 2015. His engineering career spanned 30 years, and he never stopped tinkering in the garage.

"Manny was a loving Christian family man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends," said Polly Montoya, his wife of nearly 51 years who he met at Colorado State University in 1964. "His greatest enjoyment in life was doing projects with his children and grandchildren." The Montoya family is proud to establish a scholarship that will honor Manuel's memory for years to come.
