Integrated Pest Management

Learn more about a range of techniques available to homeowners for managing pests and disease in home vegetable and ornamental gardens. We will discuss various components of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy; this includes cultural controls and garden design, biocontrols, organic products, as well as more traditional methods for managing pests.

John Stolzle works for CSU Extension in Jefferson County. He specializes in food systems, plant pathology, and general horticulture. He received a master’s degree from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria in Southern Brazil where he researched agroforestry cropping systems, botany, and public health. He is passionate about sustainable food production, urban agriculture, apartment gardening, social equity and food justice.
