Thank you for considering a gift to help us make a difference
with our canine companions and advance the care of pets and people by
supporting the Small Animal Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Service.
Advances in our service are currently solely funded by private donations and
your support is instrumental to our future!
The Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Service at the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital works to prevent and treat
lameness and disabilities related to arthritis, old age, amputations,
neurologic problems, and sporting and athletic activities. We help owners
rehabilitate their pets to pre-injury health, maintain and improve quality of
life, and develop training programs to improve the athletic performance of
companion animals while keeping them healthy and strong. We conduct research to
find new ways to treat arthritis in dogs and to improve musculoskeletal
rehabilitation, at the same time educate our veterinary students. Our clinical
research may change how people with arthritis are treated in the future! For
our patients, we offer a variety of state-of-the art treatment options for
acute and chronic illnesses. Our goal is to improve patient comfort and quality
of life and to accelerate surgical or injury recovery.
