Support the House Officers at the Veterinary Hospital
When you bring your furry (scaly, or feathered) family members to the Veterinary Health System at Colorado State University, staff, students, house officers, and faculty leap into action. Each of these groups lends their immense talent, care, and compassion to our animals. House officers are the remarkable interns, residents, and fellows who lead most cases in collaboration with their faculty mentors. All have earned their D.V.M.s and are pursuing additional training to become specialists. Many are also in graduate programs pursuing master's degrees or Ph.D.s.
While each member of the patient care team is vital, house officers are the backbone. Veterinary professionals face many stressful and emotionally challenging situations, including often bearing the weight of protecting the human-animal bond. Through this unique fund, we will promote the clinical training and development of personal well-being needed to build "whole" veterinarians who will continue the specialized care for the pets that so many of us love. In addition, our Specialist in Training Gratitude fund positions CSU to become a leader and role model within the veterinary academic community, setting the standard for the people who are the profession's future, our house officers. We invite you to express your support and gratitude for their dedication, talent, and hard work with a gift. Thank you for your support of these deserving professionals!
