The Colorado State University Rams Women’s
Ice hockey team competes in the Women’s Division 1 of the Western Women’s
Collegiate Hockey League. The WWCHL is a highly competitive league within the
American Collegiate Hockey Association which is affiliated with USA Hockey.
Competition within the WWCHL includes the University of Denver, University of
Colorado, Arizona State, Grand Canyon, Midland, Lindenwood – Belleview,
University of Wisconsin, and University of Minnesota.
The team functions as a student-run
organization, thus programming depends on the five-member student board with
the support of the CSU Campus Recreation Office, a faculty advisor, and head
coach. The student officers manage finances, travel, media, and scheduling. In
addition to the regular season, members of the team volunteer within the Fort
Collins and greater community two-three times per season, and partake in
regular fundraising events throughout the year.
