As the Land Grant University in Colorado, a core mission is providing access to an excellent college education that equips our students for rewarding and impactful careers. With your gift, you will help the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering pioneer the way forward through evolving and growing challenges of the global pandemic.
Fallout from the
pandemic continues to create truly dire circumstances for many students. Those
who previously managed to juggle coursework, work in labs, and hold down one or
sometimes two part-time jobs, are now experiencing significant financial hardships
with resulting food and housing insecurity and are scrambling to cobble
together resources to stay in school. Compounding challenges further,
many of our students have parents or guardians who have been laid off or
furloughed, reducing or eliminating their contributions to educational
expenses.
"You are not alone!” This is the sentiment we are communicating to our students. Activating past contributions to the Dean’s Innovation Fund from people like you, the college is making immediate and strategic investments to respond to dire situations felt by our engineering students.
Your gift will directly impact engineering students with the greatest needs to continue their pursuit of an excellent college education in a healthy, supportive environment. You are a key factor in our ability to deliver educational success for all of our students, especially during this time of crisis.
Your gift to the Dean’s
Innovation fund will provide discretionary support for the college, while
the Engineering First Generation Scholarship fund will provide greatly
needed scholarships to current and incoming students who are first in their
families to receive a college education. Both of these funds support crucial
and top priorities for the college in support of our students, thank you!
