What is "Google Apps"?
Google Apps is a service offered by Google to allow organizations to provide e-mail space to their members. This service provides lifetime e-mail accounts, calendaring and other features.

Who can create an account?
At this time, recent graduate and faculty/staff alumni who have an active EID are eligible to create an account. In the coming months, all alumni will be eligible to create an account.

How do I create an account?
To create an account, simply input your desired account name and password on the registration page, and click "Register". If the account name is available, your account will be created.

What can my account name be?
Unlike student e-mail account names, alumni e-mail accounts do not need to conform to a specific pattern. You may choose any name. Keep in mind that this is a lifetime e-mail address, so you may want to choose an account name that is unlikely to change.

How do I change my account name?

How do I change my password?
You may change your password once you login, within the GoogleApps interface.

I'm a graduating senior - how do I transfer information from my Google Apps account to my new account?
This is currently a manual process. You will need to forward all messages to your new account.

How do I access my account?
You may access your account from the CSU Alumni Association Google Apps homepage.

What policies apply to my Google Apps for CSU account?
Your Google Apps for CSU account is subject to Colorad State University computing policies and is also subject to Google's e-mail quota policy. Google does not place limits on how long users can keep e-mail. Your Google Apps for CSU account is also subject to Google's terms of service and privacy policies.

Who owns the account - CSU or Google?
Your account will reside entirely within Google.

What is my quota?
Google currently offers 7 gigabytes of storage per account.

What if I already have a Gmail account?
The account will not affect your existing Gmail account. If you wish, you can forward mail from one Gmail account to another.

Can I access my account from another e-mail program or client, such as Outlook or a smartphone?
Yes. We recommend that you use the IMAP protocol, as described in the link below. When configuring your e-mail program, enter your username in the following format: {name} and use your Google hosted password. Once you have configured your e-mail program, you will be able to send and receive e-mail using your {name} address.
