Dr. Nathalie Kees has been a faculty member in the School of Education's Counseling and Career Development program since 1987 until her recent retirement in December 2015. Known for her charismatic teaching style, Dr. Kees received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award in 1999 and the Colorado State University Best Teacher Award in 2006.
The Nathalie Kees Student Travel and Training Award was established to support graduate students in the Counseling and Career Development program with professional development, training, and participation in conferences and events. Dr. Kees was inspired by her mentors, who took her to conferences, workshops, and consulting jobs all over the country and abroad. They often paid for her room and registration, and the education she received was priceless. She would like to repay them in some small way by creating this fund to help counseling students attend professional development opportunities.
