After
more than 50 years as a Department of Political Science professor, Dr. John
Straayer retired in the spring of 2018. A beloved teacher, Dr. Straayer is
known for his longtime leadership of Colorado State University’s legislative internship program at
the Colorado State Capitol. In Fall 2017, the Straayer Center for Public
Service Leadership was launched to honor his legacy by providing expanded
public service-oriented professional development opportunities for CSU
students.
Established by Dr. Straayer and his wife, Judy, the John
Straayer Citizenship and Public Service Scholarship Endowment opens doors
to these internship experiences including the Legislative Internship Program,
enabling more students to participate without financial burden.
Make your gift today to celebrate John’s retirement
and honor his legacy at Colorado State University by giving to what he cares
about most: access to a dynamic, experiential political science education for
all students.
